Barbara Tranter is a graduate of York University, Simon Fraser University, and the University of Southern California at Los Angeles in Film Production and Cinema Studies. She is a Gemini Award winning filmmaker, with a career that spans TV, features and documentary production.

As an independent producer, she has worked in all areas of filmmaking - from script development and financing to post production and delivery of the finished product to the distributor and the broadcaster.

As an exhibitor, Barbara has also owned and operated two cinemas: The Aurora Theater in East Aurora, New York, and The Terrace Theater in Charleston, South Carolina.
